QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q. What should I do when I receive my rental?
As soon as your rental is delivered, we recommend taking photos of the exterior and cab for your records. Check out our tutorial video on how to take these photos before you start operating your equipment.
Q. What’s an excavator’s “tipping load”?
The tipping load is the point at which the excavator begins to tip off the ground when lifting a load. On most excavators, the tipping load is 50% of the operating capacity (or 25% of the operating capacity with the boom at max height). How high the bucket is raised affects how heavy of a load the machine can lift. Make sure you check out the specs section of each equipment rental to find machine lifting capacities.
Q. What size of excavator do I need to complete a demolition project?
Demolition projects need high-powered machines. For small demolition projects such as garages or tool sheds, we recommend renting at least a 6-tonne excavator like the John Deere 60G mini excavators for rent. If you have a large-scale demolition project such a house or apartment, you’ll need at least a 20-tonne excavator, such as the Komatsu PC200 LC-8.
